Action Martial Arts Supplies retain the Oceania distributorship for some of the finest wooden martial arts weapons and uniforms available. Pro-Budo quality weapons cover the full range of Japanese martial arts from Aikido to Batto-Jutsu, Iaido. Kendo, Kenjutsu, Bo-Jutsu, Kobudo and Jo-do. We also now have stocks of hanbo and Kali Escrima sticks and also Rattan Bo.
Pro-Budo weapons are sold extensively in Japan as well as in other markets such as Europe and the USA which demand only the very best quality. The wood used is only the highest quality "White oak" or "Shirokashi". See the "Pro-Budo" section of the product menu in the Shoppe for detail on each item. These are "must-have" items for the serious budoka. Our standard range remains available for new entrants and includes Nanchaku, Tonfa, Bo, Jo, Bokken, Junior bokken, wooden and rubber Tanto.
Ken-Jutsu Video

We have seen huge interest in demand for training in the samurai sword-arts of Kenjutsu, Iaido, Kendo and Batto-Jutsu over recent months.
To assist students in their quest for information we have produced a video of more than 2 hours duration to explain the fundamentals of Ken-Jutsu. The video is intentionally slow moving to allow the prospective student to grasp the huge amount of information that is shared on the video. Technique is shown, primarily the 8 basic cuts, 5 methods of drawing, various kamae used as a precursor to battle, a kata that allows the 8 cuts to be practiced in sequence and a simple kumite that enables a student to practice cutting and blocking techniques with a partner. All of this is practical and physical movement, but the intention of the video is not primarily to show technique. It is to show the link between physical and mental aspects of kenjutsu, how to perform etiquette (reiho) in several different ways, and why that etiquette is of importance to the samurai, and where it came from. Also a few brief historical events are outlined that have had an effect on Kenjutsu and developed it into an art for both war and peace throughout the centuries. An effort is made to portray all forms of Kenjutsu, (battlefield, philosophical and sporting) in a positive light and worthy of further study - and that anybody, male or female, will gain from a study of all or any of these arts.
Equipment (weapons and uniforms) required to perform the art of Kenjutsu is discussed. The Pro-Budo range of high quality weapons is shown at the end of the video to illustrate what is available to the student to practice the art safely. Safety, as with any weapon art is paramount and is discussed several times through the production.

Uniforms
Far too many to list here on our front page, but styles offered include Judo, Karate, Ju-Jutsu, TKD (WTF and ITF), Taijutsu, Aikido, Kung-Fu, Tai-Chi, Iaido, Kenjutsu as well as masters belts and protectors. Our uniforms are manufactured by experts in Pakistan....why is this important????....because this is the worlds 4th largest producer of cotton and they understand the product and have access to some of the finest raw materials and textile production facilities available worldwide. Our manufacturers take great pride in making a quality product for use in demanding situations.
Metal Weapons
A new shipment of low cost decorative and training swords has just arrived. Some are suitable for slow drawing practice and priced accordingly, we also have a more advanced Iaito for Kata training and for the fully experienced swordsman we now stock live blades to practice Shizan or test cutting. Shortly we also expect to stock tatami-omote, the genuine test cutting material. As well as Katana (long swords) we stock the stainless steel Tanto (samurai knife) and also the Wakizashi or companion sword.
For practitioners of Kobudo, metal Sai are offered.
